The Thirties was a period of extreme artistic liveliness in Italy under the domination of the Fascist regime.
All the artistic styles and trends, together with new communication and design languages, contributed to make the Italian scene more modern, communicative and international.
The rooms of Palazzo Strozzi (the Strozzi Palace) are hosting an exhibition of 99 works of art created during the decade of the Thirties, including paintings, sculptures and objects of design: some of the authors worth mentioning are Rosai, de Chirico, Savinio, Soffici, Morandi, de Pisis, Guttuso and others.
During these years, the idea of a modern and dynamic man established itself, in an important and profitable comparison with the influences coming from foreign countries, such as France, Germany, the Scandinavian countries and Russia.
